WEB DEVELOPMENT IN MALLORCA

Web development in Mallorca with foundations built for business

I plan and build web solutions that connect strategy, content, technology, SEO and measurement, without choosing a platform before understanding the problem.

THE WEBSITE AS A SYSTEM, NOT AN ISOLATED ASSET

Developing a website means organising decisions

Before programming, we need to define what the website must do, who will use it, what content it needs and how it will be measured. This stage avoids building unnecessary functionality or an architecture unable to grow.

I work on corporate projects and improvements to existing websites. I can use WordPress when it offers autonomy and speed, or assess another solution when business rules, integrations or scale require a different approach. The choice is justified by total cost, maintenance and risk.

01

Strategy and architecture

I translate objectives, services and demand into a map of pages and journeys. Every URL has a purpose and a primary action.

02

Experience and technology

I design components and behaviours for mobile, desktop and basic accessibility. Technology follows the requirement, not the trend.

03

Measurement from the start

Forms, events and conversions are considered during development. I do not wait until launch to discover that we cannot assess results.

SCOPE OF WORK

What a web development project covers

The scope is adapted to a corporate website, content platform or solution connected to internal processes.

Functional discovery

Objectives, users, tasks, content, integrations, risks and metrics. We prioritise what is needed for a useful first version.

Information architecture

Navigation, page hierarchy, URLs, taxonomies and relationships. Coordinated with SEO to avoid duplication and dead ends.

UX and responsive design

Wireframes, a component system and states. Forms, error messages, readability and mobile actions are reviewed.

Build and integrations

Implementation, CMS, forms, APIs and automations within the agreed scope, with controlled environments and access.

Technical SEO and performance

Crawling, indexing, metadata, structured data, redirects, images and loading. The impact is checked before and after publishing.

QA, launch and handover

Functional, browser, device and privacy testing, backups and a rollback plan. I hand over ownership and documentation.

DECISIONS BASED ON DATA

Web design and web development are not two separate projects

The interface shapes the technology, and the technology shapes the experience. I coordinate structure, content and behaviour from the start to avoid designs that are impossible to maintain or technically sound builds that nobody understands.

If you need an editable corporate website, also see WordPress design. If you already use that platform and the challenge is technical, the right option may be custom WordPress development.

For projects with existing visibility, I prepare an inventory of URLs and redirects. A new website should not erase accumulated organic value by renaming or removing content without reviewing it.

Technical decision

Custom web development: when it adds value and when it does not

Custom web development is worthwhile when the business needs its own rules, critical integrations, real-time data, complex permissions or processes that a standard solution cannot handle safely with reasonable maintenance. If the aim is to publish, generate leads, take bookings or sell through conventional flows, properly configured or customised WordPress usually offers more autonomy and less complexity.

  • Real ownershipDomain, hosting, code, data and access under your control.
  • Planned maintenanceUpdates, security and responsibilities defined from the start.
  • Documented handoverDecisions, integrations and processes another professional can understand.

Choose an answer in each section. The recommendation is technical guidance; it does not replace a discovery stage.

1. What is the main task?
2. Which integrations does it need?
3. How much logic does the automation involve?
4. What volume must it support?
5. How sensitive is the data?
6. What level of plugin dependency is acceptable?
7. Who will manage it afterwards?
8. What happens if a function fails?

Before publishing

Five acceptance criteria that should be put in writing

It is not enough for the website to “look finished”. The scope must state how each point will be checked and who accepts it.

  • FunctionalityFlows, roles, integrations and errors to be tested before launch.
  • MeasurementConversions and events that must be recorded, with verifiable consent and access.
  • OwnershipDomain, hosting, code, licences, accounts and permissions to be handed over.
  • DocumentationArchitecture, dependencies, recovery and maintenance tasks clearly explained.
  • LaunchMobile, accessibility, performance and technical SEO reviews, backups and a rollback plan.

METHOD

From the problem to launch

01

Discovery

We align objectives, users, processes, content and constraints. I identify unknowns that require validation.

02

Definition

I create the architecture, requirements, priorities and acceptance criteria. We choose technology with clear reasoning.

03

Prototype and system

We validate journeys and components before extending the design to every screen.

04

Iterative development

I build in blocks, integrate and test. Reviews focus on concrete deliverables.

05

Launch and evolution

Migration, redirects, analytics, training and follow-up. Improvement continues with real usage data.

INVESTMENT AND FIT

How much does it cost to develop a website?

It depends on templates, content volume, languages, permissions, integrations, migration and the level of customisation. The cheapest quote can become expensive if it means rebuilding architecture, changing licences or reworking functionality shortly afterwards.

I propose phases and deliverables, separating essentials, improvements and assumptions. When uncertainty is high, I start with discovery so I can estimate accurately.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions before starting

Do you only work with WordPress?

Not necessarily. WordPress often suits corporate and content websites; other needs may require a different solution. The decision is made after analysis.

Do you include design and development?

Yes, I can coordinate architecture, UX, design and the build. If other professionals are involved, I make responsibilities and deliverables clear.

Can you rebuild an existing website without losing SEO?

Yes, with an inventory of URLs, traffic, links and content. A redirect map is prepared and indexing is validated after launch.

Will the website be mobile-friendly?

Yes. Responsive design and mobile actions are part of the project, not a correction afterwards.

Do you include analytics?

I define and validate the essential events for assessing forms, calls or other actions. An advanced plan can be extended with web analytics.

Who provides the content?

We agree this at the start. I can structure and write within the scope or work with the client's material, but the schedule must include review and approval.

Do you offer support after launch?

Yes, through a stabilisation phase and, if needed, ongoing development and maintenance. I can also hand the project over to the client's team.

How long does a project take?

The timeline depends on scope, content, integrations and review speed. After discovery, I prepare realistic milestones and dependencies.
