Web design in Mallorca for businesses that need to sell, not decorate
Custom WordPress + Elementor, optimised for SEO and built from minute one to turn visits into clients. Fast, clear, results-driven websites.
A website is not a shop window. It's your business's most profitable tool when done right. And the most expensive one when it's just pretty.
It's not the design. It's that nobody thought about what they were for.
They built you a pretty website that doesn't sell
Stunning design, animations, beautiful photos. But visitors land, don't understand what you do, and leave. No clear form. No value proposition. No conversion structure.
You don't show up on Google
The site was built by someone who knows design but not SEO. Result: invisible to your potential clients. You're paying to be seen only by people who already know you.
You depend on the agency for everything
Changing a paragraph costs €80 and takes two weeks. Every small tweak needs a quote. The website is yours, but you don't control it.
The site loads slowly and breaks
Heavy premium templates, piling plugins, no maintenance. Your site takes 6 seconds to load on mobile and Google penalises you. Visitors leave before they even see it.

Plan before you design. Without a clear map of pages and priorities, any website ends up pretty but confusing. Architecture comes first.
The process. Five phases with clear deliverables.
No surprises, no "I'll show you progress when it's done", no budgets that grow along the way. You know what I'm doing and when, at all times.
Strategy and architecture
Before designing anything, we talk: who you target, what you sell, what your competitors do, what your client searches on Google. That's where the real site map comes from.
Deliverable: web architecture document (pages, hierarchy, keywords per page, goal of each one).
Copy and structure
Block by block, we write the content with SEO and conversion in mind. You bring the business knowledge. I organise it and write it so it sells.
Deliverable: a document with every page's copy, ready to design on top of.
Visual design and build
Designed in WordPress with Elementor or Bricks, on a lightweight theme (Astra/Hello). Well-chosen Google fonts, coherent palette, consistent design system. No generic templates.
Deliverable: a navigable pre-production version. We iterate until it's right.
Technical SEO and speed
Rank Math or Yoast setup, schema markup, sitemap, image optimisation (WebP), caching with WP Rocket, local fonts, security headers. Goal: PageSpeed 90+ on mobile.
Deliverable: final PageSpeed report + verified technical SEO checklist.
Launch and training
Migration to the final domain, Google Search Console setup, indexing, Analytics. A final session where I teach you to edit your site without depending on me. The website is yours — so is the control.
Deliverable: website live, personalised video tutorial and one month of free support.
Visual design with criteria: clear hierarchy, focus on the CTA and blocks built for conversion. Form follows function, not the other way around.

Tech stack. Chosen with criteria, not by trend.
Every tool picked because it solves a real problem. No decorative plugins, no heavy themes slowing the site down.
WordPress + Elementor or Bricks
WordPress because it's the world's most used CMS and because you'll be able to edit it yourself afterwards. Elementor or Bricks depending on the project. No Divi, no Avada, no heavy templates.
Lightweight theme (Astra or Hello)
No 2 MB premium themes loading code you don't use. Astra or Hello weigh under 100 KB. Speed matters more than a "pretty theme".
WP Rocket + image optimisation
Caching, minification, lazy load, self-hosted fonts, WebP. Configured by hand, not with defaults. Result: PageSpeed 90+ on mobile, consistently.
Technical SEO from day 0
Rank Math configured, schema markup, XML sitemap, robots.txt, indexing, security headers. The site is born optimised — SEO isn't "added on" later.
Who I work well with.
Corporate website for SMEs and freelancers
Services, case studies, about us, contact, blog. The typical structure 80% of businesses need. Done right, ranked locally and built to generate forms or calls.
Professional services website
Lawyers, consultants, dentists, physios, agencies. Focus on authority, case studies and local search rankings like "lawyer mallorca" or "dentist palma".
Personal brand / authority website
For professionals who want to position themselves as a reference in their field. Polished bio, case studies, blog, lead magnets. Editorial design, not a "freelancer" template.
E-commerce with WooCommerce
Online stores of up to around 200 products, with payment gateways, shipping and stock management. If your catalogue is bigger or you need ERP integration, I'll refer you to someone who knows more about that than I do.
What I do. And what I don't.
I'd rather tell you now what I'm not than charge you for something I'd do half-well.
I DO
- WordPress + Elementor/Bricks custom-built
- Editorial visual design with a coherent design system
- SEO copy and structure integrated
- Speed optimisation (PageSpeed 90+)
- Basic-to-mid WooCommerce (up to ~200 products)
- Migration of old websites to WordPress
- Monthly maintenance optional
I DON'T do
- Native mobile apps (iOS/Android)
- Custom programming in PHP/Laravel/Node
- Graphic design of logos or branding (I refer you out)
- E-commerce with thousands of products (I refer you out)
- Web builds without WordPress (not my terrain)
- "Express" websites in 3 days (my process takes 4-8 weeks)
When hiring me makes sense. And when it doesn't.
It makes sense if
- Your business is established and the website is a key tool for growth.
- You want a website you think through once and that lasts 3-5 years without a rebuild.
- You want someone with criteria, not an executor who just assembles whatever template you send.
- You care about SEO and speed, not just the visuals.
- You want to understand what's being done and why.
It doesn't make sense if
- You need a generic €300 website in 5 days. Other professionals do that well.
- You already know exactly what you want and just need someone to execute without opinions.
- The project is an e-commerce with 5,000 SKUs or complex ERP integrations.
- You want a mobile app or a custom build without WordPress.
Hi, I'm Rubén Romay.
I've spent over 10 years working in marketing agencies in Mallorca. Marketing Manager, digital consultant before that, designer before that. I've seen how websites are made from the inside: the ones that work and the ones rushed out the door.
My path was audiovisual first, marketing next, SEO last. Those three lenses come together when I design a website: visual care, strategic criteria and technical SEO from day zero.
I work solo, with criteria, and I say no to more projects than I take on. If we're a fit, you'll see it in the first 15 minutes of conversation.
What people ask before hiring me.
How much does a website cost in Mallorca?
The price of a website in Mallorca depends on the type of project. As a market reference: a landing page or simple site starts at €800, a corporate SME website usually runs between €1,500 and €3,500, and a WooCommerce store between €2,500 and €6,000. I work with a closed quote after the first diagnostic call — no surprises.
Why is there such a price gap between web designers in Mallorca?
Because "web design" is a very elastic service. A template site built in 3 days doesn't cost the same as a custom website with strategy, SEO copy and speed optimisation. My advice: don't compare prices without comparing deliverables. Ask each professional exactly what's included and what isn't.
How long does a website take?
Between 4 and 8 weeks on average, depending on the project and how fast you send me content (copy, photos, access). Very simple sites can drop to 3 weeks. An e-commerce or membership project can reach 10-12 weeks.
What do I need to provide to get started?
A first meeting where you tell me about the business. Then: visual identity (logo, colours) if you have one, professional or stock photos, a list of products/services and access to hosting and domain. If you're missing pieces like a logo or photos, I'll refer you to trusted professionals in Mallorca.
Do you also write the website copy (copywriting)?
Yes. The structure and core copy of each page are included in the project, because without well-thought-out text the design is useless. If your project needs deep copywriting or many pages with complex storytelling, I work with trusted copywriters I can refer you to.
Is the website mine or tied to you?
100% yours. Your hosting, your domain, your access, your intellectual property. If at some point you decide not to continue with me, someone else can pick up the work without fighting weird code or locked access.
Will I be able to edit the site myself afterwards?
Yes, that's the goal. I work with WordPress + Elementor or Bricks precisely so you can change copy, swap photos, add blog posts and create new pages without depending on me. The project's final session is a training session.
Do you offer monthly website maintenance?
Yes, it's optional. It includes WordPress and plugin updates, backups, security monitoring, quarterly speed optimisation and a block of hours for small changes. If you'd rather handle it yourself, I'll show you how at handover.
Can you rebuild my current website without losing SEO?
Yes, it's one of the services I do most. We audit which pages rank and what traffic they get, strategically replicate URLs or set up 301 redirects, keep the key SEO content and improve what was underperforming. The new site must perform better than the old one, not worse.
Do you work with clients outside Mallorca?
Yes. I live in Palma but work online without issue. Most meetings are video calls anyway. If you're in Mallorca and prefer to meet in person at some point in the project, that's also possible.
Shall we talk about your web project?
Tell me what you have in mind. The first call is a diagnostic, no strings attached. If we're a fit, I'll send you a proposal. If not, I'll point you in the right direction.
