Google Shopping in Mallorca: a catalogue ready to compete, measure and make decisions
Managing Shopping is not about uploading products and increasing bids. I review the whole journey — shop, feed, Merchant Center, measurement and campaigns — to identify what prevents a product from being eligible, understandable or profitable.
- No guaranteed sales
- Priorities explained
- Measurement before scaling

The complete system
Four layers, one business problem
The local SERP reviewed was mainly occupied by general Google Ads pages. This page addresses the specific gap: how catalogue, advertising platform and profitability connect. If one layer fails, the campaign may receive fewer products, learn from incomplete signals or claim a result that does not represent the real margin.
Shop
Price, availability, images, terms, product page and checkout form the reality the feed must represent.
Feed
Attributes and identifiers describe each product. Data needs to be consistent, not merely filled in.
Merchant Center
Receives the catalogue, applies requirements and displays diagnostics. An issue here comes before bidding.
Google Ads
Groups products, allocates spend and uses signals. Interpreting performance requires reliable conversions and values.
| Area | Control question | Useful decision |
|---|---|---|
| Catalogue | Do attributes correctly distinguish variants, sizes, colours or materials? | Correct the source before multiplying rules in the platform. |
| Consistency | Do price, stock and terms match between the feed and product page? | Prioritise synchronisation and avoid contradictory promises. |
| Eligibility | Which products are affected, and which specific diagnostic explains it? | First resolve issues with a real impact on the catalogue. |
| Measurement | Is each purchase recorded once, with the correct amount and currency? | Do not automate decisions based on a faulty signal. |
| Profitability | Is advertising cost compared with margin and variable costs? | Define an economic limit before chasing volume. |
What a useful review should produce. Not an indiscriminate list of errors, but a map separating eligibility blockers, data quality improvements, measurement failures and business decisions. Each finding should identify which products it affects, where it originates, how it is checked and who can resolve it.
That order avoids two common extremes: stopping the whole catalogue over a minor issue, or ignoring a foundational problem because some items remain active. It also distinguishes one-off tasks — such as correcting a source — from recurring checks, such as monitoring price and availability mismatches and diagnostics after changes to the shop.
Guidance tool
Diagnose the foundations and calculate your break-even ROAS
Tick only what you have checked. Then enter data for an average sale. The result does not predict campaign performance: it helps identify unanswered questions and estimate how much revenue you need per advertising euro to avoid consuming the available contribution.
Start by validating the shop, data and measurement before deciding on the advertising structure.
The tool will calculate an approximate maximum CPA and break-even ROAS.
Educational calculation: it does not include taxation, fixed costs, product differences, attribution, repeat purchases or changes in demand. Validate the data with your financial management before deciding on spend.
Order of work
Not everything is fixed in Google Ads
The priority depends on where the blockage originates. This approach avoids treating every problem as a reason to increase the budget.
Diagnostics, source and consistency with the shop are reviewed. Bidding does not make an ineligible product eligible.
The query, product, image, title, price and visible competition are checked before changing the whole structure.
Traffic quality is separated from the product-page experience, costs, trust and checkout. This may require conversion optimisation.
Conversion value is checked and compared with contribution. Web analytics and measurement should come before automation.
Products are grouped using verifiable commercial logic: margin, availability, season or priority, without mixing items that require different decisions.

Frequently asked questions
Shopping, feeds and Merchant Center
Direct answers to help decide whether the problem lies in the data, shop or campaign.
Content reviewed on 18 July 2026, based on the validated Palma SERP and related questions recorded in the study.
What do I need to advertise products on Google Shopping?
An accessible shop with consistent commercial information, a catalogue that can be submitted as a feed, a configured Merchant Center, a link to Google Ads and purchase measurement. Before launch, it is worth checking that price, availability, shipping and returns match between the submitted data and the product page.
Are Merchant Center and Google Ads the same thing?
No. Merchant Center receives product data, displays diagnostics and determines which items meet the applicable requirements. Google Ads uses the available products to manage campaigns and spend. A correct setup requires both accounts and the shop to be connected consistently.
How much does it cost to run Google Shopping ads?
Advertising spend depends on your objectives, demand, catalogue and economic limits; there may also be a management or implementation cost depending on scope. There is no universal budget. First we calculate what a sale can contribute, then propose a test with review and stopping criteria.
How are my products displayed on Google?
Google uses catalogue data and the available configuration to construct the product presentation. Eligibility and the final format may depend on requirements, search context and Google's systems. That is why the work focuses on accurate data without promising a specific position or appearance.
Does the service include reviewing and correcting the feed?
A feed audit and prioritisation of issues form part of the foundations. The specific implementation depends on the data source: e-commerce platform, extension, file or integration. If correction requires custom development, its scope is defined before work begins.
What should I do if Merchant Center disapproves products?
Read the specific diagnostic, identify which items it affects and check it against the source and shop. Not all issues have the same scope. The verifiable cause is corrected and the appropriate review requested or awaited where applicable, without guaranteeing approval.
Is a Shopping campaign or Performance Max better?
There is no universal answer. The choice depends on the options available in the account and market, measurement quality, data volume, catalogue and need for control. We choose a structure that supports decisions, not a campaign type simply because it is newer or automated.
How is break-even ROAS calculated?
In simplified terms, we estimate the margin left in an order after product cost and other variable costs. That approximate contribution would be the maximum advertising cost per order before covering fixed costs or profit. Dividing order revenue by that maximum produces an indicative break-even ROAS.
Why do I need to measure the value of each purchase?
Because counting orders without their value mixes different outcomes. Value allows attributed revenue and spend to be compared, although they still need to be checked against margin, returns and the attribution model. A duplicated tag or one without currency can lead to wrong decisions.
Can Shopping be managed with WooCommerce or another platform?
Yes, provided there is a reliable way to send and update the necessary data. The platform does not remove the need to validate attributes, synchronisation, diagnostics and measurement. The specific connector is evaluated according to the catalogue, maintenance and business needs.
What if I get clicks but no sales?
Queries and products are reviewed, but so are the product page, price, availability, trust, shipping costs, mobile experience and checkout. A campaign can bring a relevant visitor who still encounters commercial friction. Increasing bids without separating the two causes usually makes the picture less clear.
Can you guarantee approved products, sales or profitability?
No. Google applies its requirements, and outcomes also depend on demand, product, price, competition, website and operations. The work can make issues visible, improve data quality, organise measurement and establish transparent decision limits.
Next step
Before scaling spend, let us understand the catalogue.
Explain which platform you use, how the feed is generated, whether Merchant Center shows issues and how you measure purchases. With that context, we can define a useful review.
